Harold Barker and William Geary, starting from humble beginnings the business was formed to initially manufacture and sell locally coppiced products such as farm stakes, hazel wattle hurdles, firewood, bean rods pea sticks etc.
The company still operates from the same premises in Kings Somborne, Hampshire from where it started, all those years ago.
Rapidly expanding into general forestry, sawmilling and fencing. William Geary retired in the 1970s and around that time Harold’s three sons joined the company.
With each son developing a separate part of the business. One working on the transportation side, one expanding the forestry side and lastly one developing the fencing and gate side.
Presently from these three aspects only the fencing and gate side remains amongst newer ventures. As time passed by two of the sons retired leaving Roy Barker as the managing director and sole owner of the company. Harold Barker passed away in 2010 aged 95 years old.
With newer 3rd generation additions to the company from the Barker family. New ideas where brought to the table.
